El canciller sandinista Denis Moncada se encuentra en Moscú, la capital de Rusia, en donde ha llegado acompañado de Laureano Ortega, hijo del dictador Daniel Ortega.
Tanto Denis Moncada como Laureano, se reunieron con el Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Rusia, Serguéi Lavrov, en un intento por solicitar armamento para defender al régimen dictatorial de Daniel Ortega en Nicaragua, el cual se enfrenta a unas elecciones con amplio rechazó de la población.
El ministro de Asuntos Exteriores de la Federación de Rusia, Serguéi Lavrov, condenó en sus declaraciones los supuestos intentos de otros países de «tratar de interferir en los asuntos internos de Nicaragua» a poco más de tres meses para las elecciones, y en donde la dictadura sandinista se ha encargado de arrestar a todos los aspirantes a la presidencia.
«Nos solidarizamos con el gobierno Nicaragua en la defensa de su independencia y su soberanía. De igual manera rechazamos categóricamente los intentos de interferir en los asuntos internos de ese país, como de cualquier otro Estado», dijo Serguéi Lavrov en una rueda de prensa conjunta con su homólogo nicaragüense, el canciller sandinista Denis Moncada.
Las acciones del régimen de Ortega son desesperada y buscan conseguir apoyo ante un amplio rechazo de toda la comunidad internacional, por los últimos arrestos de opositores y aspirantes a la presidencia.
