Humberto Ortega, quien fuera director del ejercito sandinista en los años 80’s pidió una amnistía total para su hermano Daniel Ortega e integrantes de su dictadura, a cambio de garantizar unas elecciones libres y transparentes.
Humberto busca defender a su hermano, el dictador Daniel Ortega al abrir las posibilidades de una amnistía que le permita salir limpio del poder luego de llevar a cabo una represión sin igual en contra de las manifestaciones de la población opositora.
Aunque varias veces que Humberto Ortega brindó entrevistas durante el año 2018 para hablar sobre la crisis en Nicaragua, fue tajante en contra de la dictadura de su hermano, esta vez parece defenderle.
El ex miembro de la dirección nacional del frente sandinista, asegura que para unas elecciones libres y transparentes, se debe de convivir, cohabitar y coexistir, para abrir las puertas a la democracia en Nicaragua.
Humberto Ortega compara la necesidad actual con la que se tuvo con los acuerdos de Sapoa, y remarca que en aquel momento las partes (frente sandinista y contrarrevolución) se otorgaron amnistía para seguir adelante.
