Monseñor Báez, el líder religioso del pueblo de Nicaragua

Desde el inicio de la crisis socio-política que atraviesa el país, hubo alguien especial dentro de la Iglesia Católica que acompaño al pueblo nicaragüense en una de sus peores etapas de su historia.

Se trata de Monseñor Silvio José Báez, Obispo de la Arquidiócesis de Managua, monseñor estuvo siempre del lado de los oprimidos, siendo un ejemplo para los demás sacerdotes.

Monseñor Báez es originario de la ciudad de Masaya, la mas sufrida de la crisis, debido a que la mayoría de su población, la cual era históricamente sandinista, se unió para protestar y exigir la salida del poder de Daniel Ortega.

La crisis en Nicaragua dio inició aquel 18 de abril, cuando los ancianitos salieron a protestar por sus derechos pero fueron reprimidos por integrantes de la juventud sandinista.

Tras 11 meses de lucha, el pueblo nicaragüense continúa resistiendo pacíficamente y anhelando la libertad definitiva.
