La gasolinera sandinista «Petróleos de Nicaragua», Petronic, se ha visto obligada a cambiar de nombre, imagen y logos en todo el territorio nacional, debido a la baja afluencia de clientes.

Agregado a esto las múltiples sanciones que el gobierno de Nicaragua busca como evadir en contra de Petronic, por lavado de dinero. Sanciones que busca como aprobar los Estados Unidos.

Petronic durante los últimos 11 años ha recibido grandes cantidades de petroléo, proveniente de Venezuela a un bajo costo y que estuvo manipulando el gobierno sandinista vendiendo a uno de los precios mas elevados de la región.

Nicaragua vive una seria crisis socio-política desde el mes de abril del año pasado, cuando el gobierno impulso una serie de reformas a la seguridad social que dieron origen a un sinnúmero de protestas sociales.
