El Jefe del Comando Sur de Estados Unidos, Craig Faller acuso seriamente al dictador Daniel Ortega y su política de represión, estas declaraciones la brindo Faller ante el Comité de Asuntos Militares de Estados Unidos.
El Jefe del Comando Sur aseguró que Daniel Ortega y su dictadura representan una amenaza a la seguridad de Estados Unidos por facilitar a Rusia el territorio para llevar a cabo ejercicios militares.
Faller declaró ante el Comité de Asuntos Militares que en Managua hay un centro de entrenamiento ruso, en donde se han capacitado a cientos de agentes en la región.
Craig Faller en su intervención acusó a Ortega de permitir que lleguen a Nicaragua diferentes embarcaciones y naves de guerra rusas de última generación, lo cual representa una seria amenaza para Estados Unidos, debido a la cercanía.
Faller también acusó a la dictadura de Daniel Ortega de facilitar el narcotráfico de drogas por el país, al no poner restricciones e incluso ser cómplices del traslado de estas sustancias.
