Estados Unidos manifestó su disposición de colaborar con las autoridades de Costa Rica en la investigación del asesinato de Roberto Samcam, mayor retirado del Ejército de Nicaragua, opositor al régimen de Ortega y Murillo, y ciudadano desnacionalizado. El crimen ocurrió este jueves en San José, Costa Rica.
“Estamos profundamente consternados por el homicidio ocurrido hoy en San José de Roberto Samcam, exoficial militar nicaragüense y reconocido analista político que se encontraba exiliado en Costa Rica. Hemos ofrecido nuestra colaboración a las autoridades costarricenses para que se haga justicia y se capture tanto a los autores materiales como intelectuales del crimen”, publicó la Oficina de Asuntos del Hemisferio Occidental de Estados Unidos (WHAAsstSecty) a través de su cuenta en X.
El OIJ de Costa Rica está a cargo de la investigación
El Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) confirmó que está investigando el asesinato de Samcam, quien vivía en el exilio en Costa Rica desde hace varios años y contaba con la nacionalidad española. Era un crítico abierto del gobierno de Daniel Ortega y Rosario Murillo.
Según datos preliminares del OIJ, el atentado ocurrió alrededor de las 7:30 a.m. en Moravia, San José. Un sujeto ingresó al condominio donde residía Samcam y le disparó en ocho ocasiones, impactándolo en el tórax, abdomen y piernas, sin haber mediado palabra.
Agentes judiciales trasladaron el cuerpo a la Morgue Judicial para realizar la autopsia. En el sitio del crimen se encontraron ocho casquillos de bala calibre 9 mm.
“El equipo aún trabaja en la escena y la investigación sigue abierta para esclarecer los hechos”, indicaron las autoridades.
Esposa de Samcam pide justicia y confía en las autoridades
Claudia Vargas, esposa de Samcam, expresó su dolor y aseguró que confía en que las autoridades esclarecerán el crimen. “Estamos en buenas manos”, declaró visiblemente afectada, haciendo un llamado a que se haga justicia.
“No tengo más información, como saben, esto está en proceso de investigación. Agradezco la solidaridad y el respaldo que hemos recibido. Esperamos con paciencia los reportes oficiales del OIJ”, concluyó.
